Disease Description: Friedreich's ataxia is a rare disease passed down through families (inherited) that affects the muscles and heart. Origin: Sanchi is the dried root of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen (Fam. Araliaceae).
Nature and affinity: It is sweet and slightly bitter in taste and warm in nature. Its therapeutic action is related to the Channels of the Liver and Stomach.
Main Active Ingredient: Ginsenoside Rb1(C54H92O23) and ginsenoside Rg1 (C42H72O14)
Carapax Trionycis
Origin: It is the dried carapace of Trionyx sinensis Wiegmann, Trionychidae.
Nature and affinity: It is mainly produced in Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hebei, Henan and Hunan provinces.
Main Active Ingredient: The drug is salty in taste, and slightly cold in nature. Its therapeutic action is related to the channels of the liver and kidney.
Rhizoma Anemarrhenae
Origin: Common Anemarrhena Rhizome is the dried rhizome of Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge. (Fam. Liliaceae).
Nature and affinity: The drug is bitter and sweet to taste, in nature, and distributed to the Lung, Stomach and Kidney Channels.
Main Active Ingredient: Sarsasapogenin (C27H45O3)
Radix Clematidis
Origin: Chinese Clematis Root is the dried root and rhizome of Clematis chinensis Osbeck, Clematis hexapetala Pall. or Clematis manshuriac Rupr. (Fam. Ranunculaceae).
Nature and affinity: It is pungent and salty in taste, warm in nature, and distributed to the Urinary Bladder Channel.
Scorpio
Origin: Medicinal scorpion is the dried whole body of Buthus martensii Karsch, Buthidae. It is mainly produced in Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Liaoning, Anhui and Hubei provinces.
Nature and affinity: It is poisonous and pungent in taste and neutral in nature. Its therapeutic action is related to the Liver Channel.

Ramulus Cinnamomi
Origin: Cassia Twig is the dried young branch of Cinnamomum cassia Presl (Fam. Lauraceae).
Nature and affinity: It is pungent and sweet to the taste, warm in nature, and distributed to the Heart, Lung and Urinary Bladder Channels.
Cortex Eucommiae
Origin: Cassia Bark is the dried stem bark of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. (Fam. Eucommiaceae).

Main Active Ingredient: Pinoresinol diglucoside
