Disease Description: Schistosomiasis is an infection caused by one of the five species of the parasite Schistosoma.Schistosoma infections are contracted through contact with contaminated water. The parasite in its infective stages is called a cercaria. It swims freely in open bodies of water.

Origin: Areca Seed is the dried ripe of Areca catechu L. (Fam. Palmae).
Nature and affinity: It is bitter and pungent in taste and warm in nature, and distrbuted to the Stomach and Large Intestine Channels.
Main Active Ingredient: Arecoline (C8H13NO2)
Rhizoma Pinelliae
Origin: Pinellia tuber is the dried tuber of Pinellia ternate (Thunb.) Breit. (Fam. Araceae).
Nature and affinity: It is pungent in taste and warm in nature with slight toxic effect, and is distributed to the Spleen, Stomach and Lung Channels.
Semen Persicae
Origin: Peach Seed is the dried ripe seed of Prunus persica (L.) Batsch or Prunus davidiana (Carr.) Franch. (Fam. Rosaceae).
Nature and affinity: This drug is bitter and sweet in taste and neutral, and is distributed to the Heart, Liver and Large Intestine Channels.
Herba Lobeliae Chinensis
Origin: The drug consists of the entire plant of an perennial trailing herb, Lobelis chinensis Thunb. (family Campanulaceae). The drug is dried in the sun or shade, or the fresh plant is for use. It is mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui.
Nature and affinity: The drug is pungent in taste,even in nature, and distributed to the Heart, Small Intestine and Lung Channels.
Fructus Aurantii
Origin: Provinces of Sichuan, Fiangxi, Fujian and Zhejiang, China
Nature and affinity: Bitter and pungent; cold
Herba Artemisiae Scopariae
Origin: Virgate Wormwood Herb is the dried aerial part of Artemisia scoparia Waldst. Et Kit. or Artemisia capillaries Thunb. (Fam. Compositae).
Nature and affinity: It is bitter and pungent in taste and slightly cold in nature, and in distributed to the Spleen, Stomach, Liver and Gall Bladder Channels.
Fructus Quisqualis
Origin:  Fruits
Nature and affinity: Southern China, India, Indochina
Main Active Ingredient: The drug is sweet in taste and warm in nature, and is distributed to the Spleen and Stomach Channels.
Rhizoma Atractylodis
Origin: Atractylodes Rhizome is the dried rhizome of Atractylodes lancea (Thunb.) DC. or Atractylodes chinensis (DC.) Koidz. (Fam. Compositae).
Nature and affinity: It is pungent and bitter in taste, warm in nature, and distributed to the Spleen, Stomach and Liver Channels.
